At Hands On Wood, we believe off-site construction is the future. Prefabricated homes are manufactured in controlled factory environments, using advanced technologies and sustainable materials to create energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and high-quality timber frame houses. Our goal is to work with the best off-site manufacturers to bring more of these exceptional homes to families across the UK.

How We Build

​

For projects with Baufritz and Meisterstück-HAUS, all components are manufactured in Germany to the highest standards, then transported and delivered directly to site in the UK.

On-Site Assembly

​

It begins with slab preparation — installing the sealing membrane, marking wall positions, and levelling the base. Using a crane, each prefabricated element is then lifted into place with precision. Our skilled team connects and secures every component, ensuring structural integrity, airtightness, and a flawless finish.

Assembly Sequence

​

Ground floor walls → ceiling elements, stairs, and posts/beams → first-floor and upper walls → roof structure.

Within 3–5 days, the shell is complete and the house is watertight.

Additional Works

​

We also carry out roof flashing, guttering, downpipes, tiling or membranes, as well as balconies, terraces, and external stairs. Inside, we prepare for finishing with suspended ceiling frameworks, bathroom wall/ceiling closures, ventilation system installation, and air pressure testing.
